Empowering Healing Embracing Strength *

Heal'n Hurt'n Women is dedicated to empowering grieving mothers on their journey to healing and renewal. We understand the deep pain of loss and the unique challenges that come with it. We're passionate about providing a safe and compassionate space where women can find the support they need to heal from grief and rediscover their strength. Through counseling, support groups, and a variety of carefully curated resources, we walk alongside mothers, offering guidance, encouragement, and community. At Heal'n Hurt'n Women, we believe that while the hurt may shape us, it doesn't have to define us. Together, we help mothers embrace hope, rebuild their lives, and honor their loved ones in meaningful ways.

the Founder

Dr. Gloria M. Milow is a philanthropist, author, and advocate whose life’s work embodies the transformative power of service, education, and healing. As the founder of Heal’n Hurt’n Women, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers grieving the loss of their children, Dr. Milow has spent over two decades empowering women to reclaim their strength and purpose after unimaginable loss.

Her journey began on July 26, 2002, when she tragically lost her son to an unsolved murder in Inglewood, California. This devastating event shaped her mission and gave rise to her unwavering commitment to helping others navigate grief and find hope. Relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, in the wake of her loss, Dr. Milow turned to her faith, counseling, and community to heal. Her belief in the power of love and service inspired her to create Heal’n Hurt’n Women, which provides transitional housing, counseling, job assistance, and educational resources to grieving mothers.

Dr. Milow’s vision extends beyond immediate support—she is deeply passionate about equipping women to transform their lives and build a brighter future for themselves and their families. Through her organization, she has mentored countless women, hosted empowerment events, and advocated for systemic change in communities impacted by violence and loss.

A retired educator and counselor, Dr. Milow holds a Ph.D. and has dedicated her professional life to uplifting students, families, and colleagues. She has traveled internationally, speaking in cities like Chicago, Inglewood, Paris, and Cape Town, to share her story and inspire others to turn their pain into purpose. Her work has been recognized for its impact in fostering healing, hope, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Dr. Milow is also an accomplished author whose writings reflect her commitment to empowering others through faith and action. Her motto, “If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain,” underscores her dedication to serving as a beacon of light for those navigating life’s darkest moments.

As a philanthropist, leader, and advocate, Dr. Gloria M. Milow continues to inspire and uplift through her work with Heal’n Hurt’n Women. Her legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and an unshakable belief in the power of community to heal and transform lives.
